Found this batch of Brazilian on Facebook marketplace. It’s an hour from my house when I went there I scraped it with my knife and some sandpaper, but didn't have any smell but judging by the weight and the grain I was pretty positive and once I got home And started cutting it POW man proof positive it had “the smell“! ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice score Brad! I had been looking at that listing for a few weeks but Port Jervis was a near 3 hour drive and there's no way I'd have been able to transport it home in my tiny car. If I recall correctly this is your second Brazilian score in the last year or so; seems like you have some incredible luck! If you happen to have an extra 3 or 4 piece classical sized back you'd want to sell once you process the timber (or an extra piece not yet resawn) please let me know! |

Now for some comic relief: I found some brazillian rosewood out at the curb on junk pickup day. It was the tone bars from two antique children's marimbas. The longer bars are sadly almost but not quite large enough to make a bridge. |
